Discarded to Divine- Recycled Fashions. Renewed Lives.

The necklaces were made of vintage Chanel and Calvin Klein buckles.

Yesterday, we volunteered for Discarded to Divine Event held at St. Mary's Cathedral in San Francisco. This is a charity event featuring a collection of fashion creations such as clothes, purses, accessories and home decor created from the discarded materials, benefitting the St. Vincent de Paul Society's services to  those people in need. The show was divided into silent and live auctions, and we were in the silent auction devision (it's a pity that we didn't see the runway show in live auction). We enjoyed this inspiring event a lot, which was a place full of independent spirits and creativities. It's really amazing to see how those discarded materials such as clothes and curtains transformed into fashionable items. Here are some photos of the auction items, enjoy! If you were interested in fashion event had a chance to go, don't miss this meaningful event in 2012, I swear you can see incredible creativities here.

Kate Middleton in Alexander McQueen Wedding Gown

Designer- Sarah Burton

Oh, finally we see that beautiful Kate Middleton selected her wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen for her royal wedding! She looks so classy and elegant in this long-sleeved wedding dress with the lace bodice and bridal veil. She completed her fabulous bridal look with McQueen shoes and Cartier tiara. Truly, I adore the simplicity and delicate design of the dress that just fit her perfect.

Sarah Burton released the following statement:

“Catherine looked absolutely stunning today, and the team at Alexander McQueen are very proud of what we have created. The dress was just one component of a spectacular day, and I do not think it is appropriate to comment any further beyond saying that I personally am very grateful and honoured to have been given the opportunity to work on this project, and I wish TRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge every good wish for the future.”

Hope Street Los Angeles : Hello Yellow!

I spotted this well-dressed man in Hope Street in Los Angeles last week. I really like his style, he really knows how to give his classic look an instant glam by pairing with a bright yellow shirt and a cute blue bow tie. What a prefect match and a great dandy look!!

Abbot Kinney in Venice, CA

We traveld down to Los Angeles last week in order to see the exhibition at MOCA, Art in the Streets, I will share some amazing photos of the artworks with you after! We really enjoyed the short road trip around Los Angeles. We visited this amazing area called Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice, which is full of ultra-hip shops, restaurants, galleries and cafes. What makes Abbot Kinney Boulevard so special is the unique boutiques with independent spirits and designs. Actually, you can seldom see the big store brands but those independent designers' works and great private labels in the boutiques. Almost all of the stores were remodeled from the residential houses which maintain the original structures but they were redesigned to fit the stores creatively. Here are some pictures of the stores to share with you. Truly, they are so fascinating and inspiring. You can see how they creatively changed these houses into the stores. Enjoy!

Proenza Schouler- PS11 Capri Leather Tote

We spotted these beautiful unisex PS11 Capri leather tote bags ($1,350) at Barneys yesterday, the color combination includes white/saddle, green/saddle and all-black. I really love the front buckle detail and the simplicity design that make the tote so fascinating and classic. They are really structured and utility actually, the zipper closure on the both sides can enlarge the bag easily. Oh, how do you feel about it?

Light and Vivid : ZARA Orange Nylon Jacket

Today, I spotted this light weight and acid orange nylon jacket ($159) in Zara, where is my favorite place to enjoy dress experience, especially for those styles I've never tried on. The fast fashion giant always has some similar stuff to the latest tread in very friendly prices. I never try such vivd color before, maybe I can give it a try this season because it's a season to play with colors. Do you think this orange jacket is a great start?

Alexander Wang Studded Handbag Collection

Patent Leather Duffle Bag

Pebbled Leather, Angela Pouchette Bag

Angela Pouchette Patent Bag

Alexander Wang Lia Shoulder Bag $780

Here are the Alexander Wang bags I adore from his studded handbag collection. Especially I love Angela Pouchette Bag most, the stud detail on the adjustable top handle is super cute and chic. This series features the chic rose gold studs at base that has become the signature of Alexander Wang handbags. Actually, comparing to other luxury brands, the price point of Alexander Wang bags is relatively affordable, and they are edgy and utility. Though the bags are designed based on the classic, common shapes, those stud detail and cool colors make them so appealing.

Proenza Schouler- PS1 Continental Wallet

Oh my God...Proenza Schouler launches PS1 continental wallet, which is a "real" and more utility wallet comparing to this series. I want it so bad!!! The wallet features the signature strap detail and PS logo snap closure. The wallet is prices at $585 and is available in 5 colors. I really adore the smoke and saddle colors, which color do you like? Once again, I fall in love with Proenza Schouler!

Jessica Alba for Vogue Italia April 2011

Jessica Alba features Vogue Italia April 2011, shot by Michelangelo Di Battista.  She totally abandoned her sweet image and turned a sexy vampire dressed in Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana, Moschino. Her dark and mysterious styles make her so unrecognizable for me at first sight. But I personally like her sexy makeup and outfits, then do you like her bold hairstyle, dark bob and blunt fringe?

And she shared...

On going naked for a role: “I am basically conservative, and this is due to the education I received from my parents. I know how this market works and I am prepared to play along. But to go naked does not interest me at all”.

On her body: “After the pregnancy, I felt liberated. I learnt how to accept my body and I give less importance to my appearance.”
