Takashi Murakami at the Chateau de Versailles Exhibition

The Japanese controversial contemporary artist, Takashi Murakami (村上隆), is now having his personal exhibition at the Chateau de Versailles (凡爾賽宮) in France.

There are thousands of critics in France and even in japan about this event. It is said that his unique style doesn't fit the classical Chateau de Versailles. However, he explained the Château de Versailles is one of the greatest symbols of Western history, what he wanted to do is to create a great shock on the beauty of contrast. His concept is based on provoking a tension between the historic baroque of Versailles and his Japanese manga sculptures.

In this exhibition, not only can you see the retrospective of Murakami like his remarkable flower matango, but also 11 exclusively art works for the exhibition. They are included 7 sculptures, a painting and a set of lamps.

Some people may dislike his art pieces and think it is so weird; however, I think Takashi Murakami just uses a very special perspective to show his art. Art itself should be judged neutrally. He did create a big beauty of contrast; though it's also a huge controversy around the world, it really arouse huge curiosity and expectation. I really wish I could be there to experience this unique exhibition.

The exhibition will last for 3 months, from 14th September 2011 to 12th December 2011.
